Cycle 4 Sam 2014 Day 4

Day 4 – Walker Flat –Mannum – Callington – Strathalbyn – McLaren Vale (145km)

A big day today – we started about 7.30am and finished in McLaren Vale with an afternoon tea at Woodstock Winery to mark the 3rd anniversary of Mason Minniss.  It was a fantastic boost to our morale to hear from the Minniss family about how the funds from Cycle 4 Sam help families in need.

Lots of climbing and spectacular scenery today – riding along the Murray was fantastic but chilly.

Highlights – morning tea at Callington, sharing afternoon tea with the Minniss family, awesome massages in the evening & Brenton’s Cycle 4 Sam song

Lowlights – yet another puncture and two, yes two, broken spokes

  • 1228 metres climbed
  • 25.6 km/h average speed
  • Average cadence  78 rpm

Bring on the rest day
